Principles & Advantages
The steel/bronze interface features a zone of intermetallic diffusion of between 3 and 5 microns without the appearance of weak phases. This ensures perfect adhesion, creating a durable bond that surpasses the mechanical properties of bronze alone.
Additionally, the anchoring of bronze in thin layers allows for controlled thermal expansion, keeping it close to that of steel. This minimizes deformation under heat or thermal shock, ensuring stable and consistent mechanical clearances during operation. Bronze Tokat
The specific type of Kugler Tokat® bronze cast onto the friction surface is selected based on the application requirements. The amount of self-lubricating elements ranges from less than 1% to 30%, offering a broad spectrum of mechanical properties to suit various performance needs.
Quality
The perfect quality of the bond is tested 100% by ultrasonic testing for all verifiable surfaces, thus giving the customer an optimum guarantee. If desired, destructive tests can also be carried out: compression, bending, tensile and microsection test are available
